David Bellavia Presented with the Medal of Honor

On Tuesday, June 25, 2019, United States Army veteran Staff Sergeant David Bellavia was awarded the Medal of Honor for his acts of bravery in Fallujah nearly fifteen years earlier. Staff Sgt. Bellavia is currently the only living recipient of the Medal of Honor from the Iraq War.
He has been a friend of the American Veterans Center since 2005, and the AVC believes the honor is incredibly well deserved and long overdue. AVC President Jim Roberts was in attendance at the Medal of Honor Ceremony. The AVC is also privileged to have Staff Sergeant Bellavia serve as an Advisory Board member for the organization.
