The AVC and Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation presented the 2016 Andrew J. Goodpaster Prize to Dr. Andrew Krepinevich on September 14 at the historic Army and Navy Club in downtown Washington, DC.

The Goodpaster Prize and its accompanying lecture is commemorating its ninth year, and celebrates the life and career of Andrew J. Goodpaster, a decorated hero of World War II who went on to serve as commander of NATO and Superintendent of West Point. The prize recognizes the work of ‘soldier-scholars’ in the mold of General Goodpaster, one of the military’s most esteemed thinkers.

Dr. Krepinevich, a 21-year Army officer, was recognized for his long career as President of the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments and authorship of many works, including the acclaimed The Army and Vietnam and the recently published The Last Warrior: Andrew Marshall and the Shaping of American Defense Strategy.
