Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor

75 Years ago, the attack on Pearl Harbor signaled America’s entry into one of the greatest conflicts of the 20th century: The Second World War. Throughout the year, the AVC is working to record the stories of America’s surviving veterans of Pearl Harbor, to ensure that their service and sacrifice is remembered.

Listen to the story of Jim Leavelle, US Navy veteran present at Pearl Harbor, aboard the USS Whitney during the Japanese attack. Leavelle would go on to witness history again as a homicide detective for the Dallas Police Department at the time of President Kennedy’s assassination.
