16,000 Birthday Wishes for an American Hero

Lt. Col. Richard Cole, World War II veteran and co-pilot to Jimmy Doolittle in the famed Doolittle Raid, turned 100 years old last week. AVC has had the privilege to work with LTC Cole throughout various projects and events over the years, including the National Memorial Day Parade, the Veterans Day Conference and Honors, and most recently, the documentary Doolittle’s Raiders: A Final Toast.

1210raiders-coleWe at AVC wanted to spread the word for LTC Cole’s big birthday, and recently sent an email to our mailing list, inspiring our recipients to wish a Happy Birthday to this selfless American Hero. We are happy to announce that we received around 16,000 birthday wishes for our friend LTC Cole, well deserved for his service to our nation on the legendary mission in April 1942.

Messages included, “Happy 100th Birthday Col. Cole! Your sacrifices for this country have not been forgotten! God Bless you, Sir!”

“Happy birthday Col. Cole. You and the raiders gave us back the will to win.”

“There aren’t enough words to tell you how much your service meant to the United States, to all of us. I hope you have a wonderful day.”

Indeed, there aren’t enough words. Happy 100th Birthday to one of the greats, from AVC, and thankful individuals across America and around the world.
