About the Film

December 7, 1941, “a date which will live in infamy,” plunged America into World War II. The attack on Pearl Harbor was the first of a string of defeats that sent the U.S. military reeling, plunging America’s morale, and leaving many to question whether the war could even be won.

April 18, 1942 will forever be known as the day the tide began to turn.  From their carrier, the USS Hornet, deep in enemy waters, 80 American flyers led by Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle, took off in 16 B-25 bombers.

In what most believed was a mission from which they would not return, they led the first strike on mainland Japan of the war, rallying the nation and, in turn, becoming legends.

This is the story of the Doolittle Raiders, the mission that changed the war, and the legacy they have left behind.
