The American Veterans Center Takes Home Emmy

The American Veterans Center is proud to announce that “The Honors” – the first televised awards show saluting our military heroes – has been chosen as the recipient of an Emmy Award for television excellence. The award was presented at the 57th Annual Emmy Awards gala hosted by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).

The Honors shares the stories of American military legends from World War II to the present day, with their stories of heroism introduced by notable celebrities and supporters of our military such as Gary Sinise, Pat Sajak, Joe Mantegna, Mark Valley, Taylor Kitsch, Lorraine Bracco, and more.

“We are proud to add The Honors to the Oscars, the Grammys, the Tonys, and of course, the Emmys, as the first awards show saluting our military heroes,” said Tim Holbert, Executive Director of the AVC and co-producer of The Honors. “These are heroes whose names every American should know, and we’re honored to build The Honors into a Veterans Day television tradition.”

Produced in collaboration with Yorktel Media, The Honors aired on cable and satellite nationwide on REELZ Channel, as well as worldwide to our military men and women serving around the world on DoD News. This marked The Honors first year on commercial television, and The Honors’ first Emmy on its first nomination.
