The mission of the American Veterans Center is to guard the legacy and honor the sacrifice of America’s heroes – something we will accomplish through the production of the documentary film A Final Toast: Doolittle’s Raiders. The legacy of the famed Doolittle Raid will live on by looking at the lives of the raiders and the moments that made history.
While the story of the Doolittle Raid has been told many times, this retelling will look at the Doolittle Raiders as individuals. Understanding the experiences of these men through their own words will provide an engaging way to tell the story and allow viewers to make connections. By using oral history interviews, commentary, and footage of crucial moments detailing the legacy of the Doolittle Raid, we will show that the story will always stand as a crucial moment in American history.
