Francis “Jeep” Sanza

Francis “Jeep” Sanza, World War II veteran of the Army’s 3457th Medium Auto Maintenance Company, was drafted into the Army in 1941. As General George Patton’s personal Jeep driver, Sanza spent a lot of one-on-one time with the General, and quite literally had a front seat to some of the greatest action of the war. Sanza reflects on his service in the Army, his encounters with Patton, and the legacy left by veterans of the Second World War.
