Surviving Veterans of Legendary Doolittle Raid Return to AVC Conference
Just over 70 years ago, on April 18, 1942, 18 B-25B Mitchell medium bombers took off from the deck of the USS Hornet to attack the Japanese homeland in America’s first strike back following the bombing of Pearl Harbor.
Eighty crewmen took part in the now legendary Doolittle Raid. Today, five remain.
