Kennedy Center Memorial Day Concert
For the last four years the American Veteran Center has joined Music Celebrations International in sponsoring a patriotic choral festival at the Kennedy Center Concert Hall, on the day before Memorial Day. The event features an uplifting and inspired program of patriotic music that is a tribute to our fallen service men & women and our country.
The concert which usually plays to a sell-out audience of 2,500 people, features a 300 voice choir comprised of choral groups from around the country, accompanied by the US Army Orchestra. The Festival Artistic Director is Dr. Craig Jessop, former Director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.
This year, The American Veterans Center President, James Roberts was the narrator of a portion of the concert. The AVC and Music Celebrations International are working to have next year’s concert broadcast on national television.
