OUR MISSION

The mission of the AVC is to guard the legacies and honor the sacrifices of all American veterans. Through oral history preservation, educational programs and civic events, we pass their stories on to the next generation so that they are never forgotten. The inclusion of two divisions provides numerous resources for those interested in the history and legacy of World War II and the Vietnam War.

COMMITTEES

The Center is comprised of two divisions – The World War II Veterans Committee and The National Vietnam Veterans Committee. Specific attention to research and oral history preservation can be dedicated to those interested in the stories and experiences of both groups of veterans. About 10 years after the establishment of the World War II Veterans Committee, The National Vietnam Veterans Committee was created to pursue parallel education for those interested in the legacies of Vietnam Veterans. These committees now both function under the American Veterans Center. AVC seeks to honor the commitment and sacrifice of all veterans, and through these committees can form specific projects for those interested in the legacy of World War II and Vietnam — two wars that significantly impacted American History.
